Good Early Philadelphia Silver Teaspoon by Nicholas LeHuray, Jr.
$25.00
Offered is a lovely and earlier coin silver spoon by Philadelphia silversmith, clockmaker and jeweler Nicholas LeHuray, Jr. (b. 1797 - d. 1846), working circa 1821-46 in that city. Nicholas LeHuray, Jr. made or sold some very fine flatware, and occasional hollowware. His work is not all that scarce but is usually very desirable. Check my other listings for a slightly later and larger set of four teaspoons by LeHuray, Jr.
This teaspoon is from the 1820s, on the early end of Nicholas' career. It has a particularly lovely period engraved script monogram with hatching, and a legible maker's mark. This piece measures about 5 7/8 inches in length and weighs about 16 grams. Condition overall is very good, with modest tip wear and one shallow ding to the bowl, but no major dents and no splits or repairs. Please review all of the pictures. All in all a fine early example of this man's wares!
