$42.50

Offered is a nice and scarce American coin silver teaspoon dating to around the beginning of the 19th Century and made by George Hendel, a celebrated silversmith of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. In 2009, a tea service by Hendel sold at auction for $90,000. This teaspoon is slightly more affordable. It has a legible maker's mark of GH in an oval, and a period engraved script monogram of TMcM. This piece measures about 5 7/8 inches in length and weighs about 14 grams. Condition is fairly good, with some tip wear but no splits or repairs. All in all a nice spoon dating back more than two centuries by a very desirable silversmith!
