Fine Pair of Philadelphia? Coin Silver Spoons Marked E.A.MASSON
SOLD
Offered is a lovely pair of American coin silver teaspoons marked E.A.MASSON in a banner mark, perhaps for a member of the Masson family of jewelers and watchmakers, centered in Philadelphia. These include Charles A. Masson and Edward W. Masson; perhaps E. A. Masson was a brother or son to Charles A. Masson, as these spoons appear to date to the 1840s or 1850s. These teaspoons each have a clear maker's mark and a good period engraved script monogram. They measure about 5 5/8 inches in length and the pair weighs about 26 grams altogether. Condition is excellent overall, with only a few tiny bumps in the bowls, and no splits or repairs. Please review all of the pictures. All in all a great example of this uncommon mark!
