Coin Silver Teaspoon by Benjamin Pitman of New Bedford, MA, c.1830-45
$17.50
Offered is a nice American coin silver teaspoon by Benjamin Pitman (1800-1886), working circa 1820-1870 in New Bedford, Massachusetts (though he grew up, presumably trained, and was married in Rhode Island). This piece has a clear maker's mark, a PURE COIN mark, and a period engraved script monogram to the reverse. This spoon measures about six inches in length and weighs about 17 grams. Condition is fairly good overall, with a couple of small dings (please see all pictures) but no splits or repairs. All in all a nice piece with a good example of this maker's mark!
