Rare Philadelphia Coin Silver Spoon by Peter Ferris & Brother Ca. 1853
$35.00
Offered is a quite rare American coin silver teaspoon bearing the maker's mark of P.FERRIS&BRO, which was used during the very brief (1853 or so) partnership between Peter Ferris of Philadelphia and his brother Edward F. Ferris. This may be the only known piece with this mark. This teaspoon has a legible maker's mark as well as a period engraved script monogram. This piece measures about 5 7/8 inches in length and weighs about 16 grams. Condition is fairly good overall, with some small bumps and dings to the bowl, but minimal wear and no splits or repairs. All in all a great example of an extremely scarce mark!
