Offered is a good early American coin silver teaspoon marked A*E and engraved with a period script "A" owner's initial. This maker's mark has been attributed to Windham, CT silversmith Alfred Elderkin, working there circa 1780s until sometime in the first decades of the 19th Century. The maker's mark on this spoon is clear and legible. This spoon measures about 5 5/16 inches in length and weighs about 10 grams. Condition is fair at best, with a fair amount of dimpling and wear to the bowl, and some slight rippling to the handle. There are no splits and no obvious repairs. All in all a fine example of this man's wares!
