Offered is a lovely American coin silver teaspoon by noted Reading, Pennsylvania silversmith William Mannerback (1762-1838), which by style would appear to date to about the last decade in his life, circa 1830-38. This may be the latest piece of Mannerback silver bearing William's mark that I've seen. As one can tell from the maker's mark, by this time the WMB die was very worn. In contrast, the READING city mark was clear and crisp. The monogram is worn but partly legible. This piece measures about 6 1/16 inches in length and weighs about 18 grams. Condition overall is very good, with some wear to the monogram but no dents, splits or repairs and no tip wear. All in all a fine example of William Mannerback's work in the twilight of his career!
