Offered is a lovely American coin silver teaspoon by noted Philadelphia silversmith John McMullin (1765-1843), which by form should date to about 1815-25. This large teaspoon is engraved with a period monogram of "SST" and one of John McMullin's maker's marks - in this case one used mostly in the first two decades of the 19th Century. This piece measures about 6 1/4 inches in length and weighs about 22 grams. Condition is very good overall, with modest wear from normal use and a bit of wear to the monogram, but no dents, splits or repairs. Please review all of the pictures. There is one small spot of tarnish that will come off but needs a little bit of elbow grease. All in all a fine example of this major silversmith's wares!
