Offered is a nice set of six American coin silver teaspoons initialed "EW" in period script and marked MENKENS in a rectangular punch. This maker's mark was used by Henry A. Menkens and his sons Herman and Henry W. Menkens, working in St. Louis, MO circa 1864-1866. These spoons measure about 5 5/8 inches in length and weigh a total of about 87 grams. Condition ranges from fairly good to poor, with some bowls being out of round and some dents and ripples to several spoons. All in all a nice example of this maker's mark!
