Pair of 19th Century Italian Neo-Classical Medallion Silver Spoons
$45.00
Offered is a scarce and attractive pair of 19th Century neoclassical Italian silver spoons, by a silversmith named Castagna or Castagma, who I've not found anything about. In addition to the maker's mark, each spoon is marked with a fineness mark of 800. These spoons probably date to the second or third quarter of the 19th Century, judging by the marks and the style. They measure a bit over 5 1/2 inches in length and weigh a total of about 26 grams for the pair. Condition overall is very good, with moderate signs of wear and use, but no notable dents and no splits or repairs. Please review all of the pictures. All in all a lovely example of the neoclassical form in antique silver!
