Good Pair of Ca. 1820 Teaspoons by Jacob Sargeant of Hartford, CT
SOLD
Offered is a very nice pair of circa 1810-25 American coin silver teaspoons by noted Massachusetts and (from 1795 onwards) Connecticut silversmith Jacob Sargeant, working in Hartford, CT from 1795-1838. These teaspoons are each initialed "CS" in period script and each bears a good clear strike of Jacob Sargeant's maker's mark. These spoons measure a little over 5 1/2 inches in length, and the pair weighs 32 grams, or one troy ounce, altogether. Condition is fairly good overall, with some small dings to the bowls and modest surface wear and signs of normal use, but no splits or repairs.
