Early Martinsburg, WV Jewelry Box for a Necklace - Harry M.Fisher

Offered is a very nice antique box for a necklace, from West Virginia jeweler Harry M. Fisher, who commenced business in 1912. It's a bit under 9 1/2 inches long. It probably dates to about 1912-25. There are a few stains and signs of wear, but overall it is in fairly good condition for its age, with a staple on one side, presumably to reinforce the hinge. Such boxes are very hard to find, and house antique pieces beautifully. All in all a lovely and useful box for the Southern material culture collector, or any antique necklace!
