Offered is a nice early 18th Century Chinese export porcelain blue and white cup and saucer, over-decorated in enamels in Holland in the manner known as Amsterdam Bont, and specifically in the pattern known as "the flower basket, in Dutch de bloemenmand". From the underglaze blue pattern, this cup and saucer is probably late Kangxi or Yongzheng period, somewhere in the range of 1710-40. The saucer measures about 10.7 cm across and is in nice condition aside from one small nibble and a few tiny rough spots on the rim, and a little rubbing to the enamels. The cup, which nicely matches the saucer but is probably a replacement for the original, measures about 4 cm high and 6.6 cm across, and is in good condition aside from some small nibbles to the rim. Both pieces have various minor firing flaws as would be expected. All in all a fine and attractive cup and saucer in an interesting and well-painted pattern!
