Offered is a nice 19th Century French first standard silver teaspoon in the French form of fiddle pattern, also known as Uniplat. This teaspoon has a mark very similar to one given in standard references for Etienne-Henri Sanoner (see last picture), and it is likely the mark on this spoon was also his. This spoon is monogrammed to the reverse, and has a clear maker's mark and standard or fineness mark. This piece measures about 5 1/16 inches in length and weighs about 13 grams. Condition is fairly good, with a little bit of waviness in the handle, but only modest wear and no splits or repairs. Please click on the first photo to see all of the photos. All in all a nice useful match for a French flatware service, or just a nice spoon for the morning tea or coffee!
