Teaspoon c1850 by John B. Scott - Pittsfield, MA or New York City

Offered is a nice American coin silver teaspoon marked PURE COIN and JOHN.B.SCOTT; there were jewelers by that name working in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and New York City in the era this spoon would have been made, circa 1850, and the style is indeterminate, so I'm not certain where this spoon was made, though I'd lean toward New York City based upon style. This spoon is engraved in period script for the original owner and has a most legible maker's mark. It measures about 6 inches long and weighs about 16 grams. Condition is excellent, with no dents, splits or repairs. All in all a nicely done spoon from 175 years ago!
