SOLD

Offered is a very nice English silver teaspoon dating to 1838, the first year of Queen Victoria's reign and the end of the Regency. This teaspoon is unusual in that there is a full, clear set of hallmarks but no maker's mark, and in that the spoon is in the Old English pattern with a block letter monogram - it may have been made specifically to replace a missing spoon from a late 18th Century flatware canteen. This spoon is initialed MC in period engraving. It measures about 5 1/2 inches in length and weighs about 22 grams. Condition is excellent, with minimal wear and no dents splits or repairs. All in all a great nearly two century old piece for daily use with one's coffee or tea!
