Vintage Golfing Cross Stitch Sampler

Isn’t this a perfect gift for the golfer in your life?

Lovely cross-stitch piece measures 20” x 8 ¾” and is in excellent condition with super stitching.

I purchased this kit in the early 1980s when Roger was beginning to play golf. As with most of my sewing kits, I never seemed to find time to start it -- so I took it to my mother-in-law. She was an excellent needle-worker and quilter (I have oodles of quilts/comforters hand made by her!)

The cross-stitching on this sampler is far superior to anything I could have done -- the stitches on back are straight lines; the way it's supposed to be done (not lots of x stitches as I have a tendency to do!).

Unfortunately after a couple of years golfing, Roger decided he wasn't any better at it than when he started so stopped playing and I have the sampler still in the cedar chest after all these years. No need framing reference to a game that defeated him; I'm not that mean!
