Wellsville China Swingware cup and saucer Western theme

Wellsville Swingware classic circa 1950's-1960's Restaurant Ware cup and saucer. Western cowboy theme. Wellsville China Co., in Wellsville, Ohio. Cream colored background with all brown Wild West scenery showing: Star Hotel, Fargo Express, Bar, Stagecoach, covered wagon, Native Indians, cowboys and a Chinese immigrant at the watering trough. In wonderful vintage condition with exception of a hairline crack on the saucer. Wellsville China - Wellsville, Ohio, USA 1902-1959. The Wellsville company purchased the abandoned Pioneer Pottery company works and by 1912 was producing plain and decorated semi-porcelain, dinner and toilet wares, tea sets, cuspidors and other accessories and specialty items. Vitreous hotel ware was added in 1933. Controlling interest passed to Sterling China in 1959 and the company closed in 1969. Many marks appear, featuring the pattern name and "Wellsville China", sometimes appearing as "W.C.Co."
