Large at 11 3/4" long, and weighty at 4.3 T. oz., this down turned, "Reverse Tipt," spoon has beveled edges and a thumb drop on the heel backside.

An English Georgian piece, it is fully marked for London, sterling, 1812-13, and maker Richard Turner (RT).

Variously identified as a platter, basting, or stuffing spoon, it is intended for heavy duty.

This has a leaf script "M" monogram on the front of the otherwise plain handle.

It is in excellent condition, the only signs of use being overall, light surface scratches. The bowl remains well-shaped and free of tip wear, dents, or bends.
