$95.00

Weighing over 2.1 T. oz., this 8 11/16" long tablespoon is a heavy item with a narrow, thick handle, and a lengthy, sturdy bowl.

It is an elegantly crafted, sterling silver, piece made by London's George Smith and William Fearn in 1787-88, with sharp, clear hallmarks for the same.

It is an "Old English" pattern, with a downturned reverse tipt end, and a thumb drop on the bowl backside.

The handle front has a diamond bright cut edge with wriggle work detailing, and a lion's head crest above a block letter "M."

This is in exceptionally fine condition, with neglible wear and an overall rich patina. All the engraving remains crisp and well-defined, while the bowl is free of tip wear, dents, or burrs.
