First issued in 1905 as "American Chippendale" aka "Chippendale," Frank Smith produced a rarely found variant named "Lincoln Engraved" in 1923.
This example of the line is a 5 3/4" long, just over .6 T. oz., narrow bowl, condiment spoon, used for chow chow or piccalilli relishes.
It appears to represent a further refinement of the pattern, having a hammered handle and a hand chased, rather than die struck, design that embodies the Arts & Crafts sensibilities of the period.
There is a script "A" monogram engraved on the front.
It is without any signs of use, retaining clear detail, having a bright finish, and showing a bowl that is free of dents, bends, or nicks.
Marks are Frank Smith's "standing lion" emblem and the word "Sterling."
