At 4 1/4" long and weighing 1.0 T. oz combined, this matched are identified as coffee spoons in old catalogues, as opposed to generally smaller demitasse spoons.
These are original production examples of Reed & Barton's "Les Six Fleurs."
An extravagant design, the Art Nouveau style portraiture incorporates sinuous floral elements that entwine with one another throughout the length of the handles and carries onto the interior cups of the heels.
The backsides are relatively plain, with trailing leaves framing the handles, which are surmounted by a flower detail at the tips.
The bowls are finished in bright gold washes, front and backsides.
Never monogrammed, these remain in mint estate condition, showing no wear or damage and having fine finishes.
They are imprinted with the Reed & Barton "eage, R in a shield, lion," emblem, along with the words "Pat. Appl'd For" and "Sterling" marks, all in fine lettering as would be expected on old items in this line.
