$65.00 Price for the pair with spoons.

Standing 7/8" tall, having a maximum diameter of 1 1/2", and weighing 1.0 T. oz. combined, these two matched items could be used either as master or individual salts.

Caldron shaped, they have round, bulbous bodies, sit on raised, flat bottoms, and have applied top rims.

The walls have satin matte finishes that are wriggle work and bright engraved in a repeating, garland like, design.

The interiors are finished in gold washes, which is largely worn away on one piece, from the interaction with salt.

Each one is engraved with a Gothic "C" monogram which is flanked on one side with a script "1862" and on the other "1887," so clearly these were a 25th anniversary memento.

They were found with a pair of 2 3/8" long, approximately .2 T. oz. combined, matte finish, plain handle with round, gold washed bowls, spoons marked "Sterling." These may or may not be original to the set.

These are in very good condition, free of dents or evident wear. The only signs of use are the loss of gold on one piece, as noted above, and one slight flat spot on one piece.

Marks on the underside are "474" with "English Sterling" appearing in an arc under this. This is a term and mark commonly associated with New York City's John Wendt, although not exclusive to him.
