HOLD

A 6" long, .6 T. oz., piece with a 1 1/2" diameter bowl, this cream ladle is stamped "C. Beckwith," on the backside, which name is not identified in any of the standard references. He may have been a regional or otherwise obscure maker.

Well-crafted in a naive way, it has a long, arced, handle, with rounded shoulders off the bowl and a broad end.

It is engraved "M R Cook" in a feathered script that, while proud and precise, has a primitive quality to it.

In very good condition, it is without tears, dents or bends in the bowl, and the engraving remains crisp. There is one slight crimp across the upper portion of the handle.
