Generously sized, this goblet stands 6" tall, rests on a 3 3/4" diameter foot, and has a 3 3/4" wide and equally deep bowl. It weighs 7.2 T. oz.

It is fully hallmarked on the underside (which shows hand hammering marks) for sterling (crowned harp), Dublin (Hibernia), date letter "U" for 1792, and maker's initials "I·I" for Joseph Jackson.

Its decorative element lies in its well-proportioned, clean and elegant, design. Otherwise plain, it has a lined, rimmed base of one tier and a graceful taper.

The side of the bowl is engraved in a three part crest which includes a castle or tower top that is surmounted by two crossed arrows and an axe or mace.

The interior is finished in a bright gold wash.

In exceptionally fine condition, this is free of dents, cracks, or repairs, and shows a rich luster. The base sits evenly, without any rocking, and the engraving remains crisp. The body has several shallow dings and pinprick nicks, all consistent with age, and not otherwise distracting.

Note, a second one of these is available. It is matching but has some damage to the sidewall. Please inquire.
