HOLD

A 6" long, weighty at 1.0 T. oz., teaspoon, this piece is engraved in embellished period lettering in the satin finish bowl "Medina, Ohio" and in script on the handle backside "1904."

An early example of Reed and Barton's "La Parisienne," this is marked on the reverse with the company's "eagle, R in a shield, lion" emblem, "Sterling," and "Pat. Apr. 15. 1902," all in fine, precise, lettering as should be on an old piece.

"La Parisienne" is a multi-motif design that features different flowers on various pieces. The portraiture on this is chrysanthemum, offered in a decidedly Art Nouveau manner.

A commemorative item, this appears never to have been used as a spoon per se as it remains in original condition, absent any wear and showing a brilliant finish.
