$315.00

A true julep cup, i.e. not a mug with the handle removed, this beaker is perfectly proportioned for its form. It has straight, tapered sides, stands 3 1/2" tall, has a top diameter of 3", a 2 5/8" wide base, and weighs a substantial 4.9 T. oz.

Dating circa 1860, it was made by Wood & Hughes, whose "W & H" emblem, and "900/1000" for coin silver are stamped on the underside.

It has applied, beaded, rims top and bottom and is otherwise plain and without a monogram, inscription, or removal of same.

An estate piece, it is in near perfect condition. It remains round, sits evenly, is free of dents or bends, and has a bright, even, finish. Apart from a number of slight surface dings, there is no evidence of use.
