$325.00

A 10 1/8" long, just over 2.0 T. oz., solid silver piece, this meat skewer is fully hallmarked with a "harp" for Dublin, a "seated Britannia" for sterling silver, the date letter "u" for 1816, a duty mark, and the maker's stamp "IS" for James Scott.

Flat with a loop end, and tapering to a point, the shape is typical of this item.

It is also bright cut engraved on both sides in a period design that includes the starburst motif characteristic of Irish silver.

There is a small monogram, perhaps the letter "R" inscribed on the side with the marks, between the maker's "IS" and the top of the star.

In excellent condition, it is without bends or cracks and has a warm, even, finish. Polishing wear is minimal, as are surface scratches which are most evident toward the tip.
