A large, 2 3/8" tall by 2 5/8" base diameter, and heavy 5.8 T. oz. silver content, this mustard pot is fully hallmarked on the side for Sheffield, England, 1914, sterling, and prominent maker Thomas Bradbury & Sons (TB & S in a shield).

The lid is counterstamped on the underside with the maker's mark and a lion passant for sterling.

Edwardian in period, but Georgian in style, it has applied top and bottom rims (tiered on the base) and a solid, scroll handle with a robust hinge attached to the slightly domed lid. The thumb grip is shell form.

The top is engraved with an elaborate, interlocking leaf monogram. The bottom is open in the middle and thus shows the glass which sits on a retaining lip.

It retains its original, perfectly fitted, deep cobalt blue liner.

In original condition, the silver is without dents, bends, or marring of any kind. The surface shows a mirror-like finish with some slight dullness around the thumb grip. The piece sits evenly, the hinge is tight and without play, and the glass is free of chips, cracks, or flakes.
