Some a rococo design and some apparently an expression of Victorian whimsy with an array of forget-me-not or similar flowers interspersed with scrolls and swirls, Towle's Princess is an appealing late 19th century pattern.
This example is a 5 3/4" long, 1.0 T. oz., sardine fork.
In addition to the marks on the handle backside, which are "Sterling," Towle's "standing lion in a T" emblem, and "Pat. 1892," this is engraved with a script letter "C.H.B." monogram.
The server itself has five tines, joined to a scalloped edge heel, and is finished in a satin matte gold wash front and back sides.
In mint estate condition, this is without wear or damage and shows a bright surface on the handle.
