Period items dating to the mid 19th century, each of these two footed master salts is stamped "10.15" for the peculiar-to-Baltimore area silver standard that is roughly equivalent to coin.

Round and matching, each one measures 2 1/4" in diameter and 1 1/4" tall. They are moderately heavy, weighing 2.5 T. oz. combined.

Each one has a body that is repoussed all over in a leaf and flower pattern, with a reserve area that has never been monogrammed. There is an applied plain top rim. One of the two retains an original gold wash on the interior.

They are supported on three cast and applied acanthus leaf legs with pad feet.

In exceptionally fine condition, these are free of bends, dents, or polishing wear, and they have pleasing finishes. As inferred, the gold on the interior of one has worn away.

There are no maker's marks, but the "10.15" associates them with Baltimore and the quality of work and date suggest a major regional maker such as Kirk or A.E. Warner Sr.
