$525.00 Price for the set, server with spoons.

Rooted in Moorish design and dating from the encompassing 1870s Renaissance Revival period, Whiting's Arabesque features a standing griffin with widespread wings set against a vine, leaf, and rosette background, all of which are quintessential elements of this design motif.

This ensemble is an ice cream set comprised of a server along with eleven (alas one of the no doubt once twelve has been lost to the group) individual spoons.

These are all part of a rarely found original set, not an assembled one. They were sourced together and every piece is stamped with the same retailer's name, "J. Stevensons Sons," Pittsburgh.

The server measures 8 3/16" long and weighs 2.2 T. oz. It has a triangular shaped blade with an upswept back and pointed tip and is finished in a pale, satin matte, gold wash front and back sides. There is a flanged and scalloped margin around the entire perimeter.

The spoons are 5 5/16" long each and weigh 5.7 T. oz. the group. They have rounded bowls with faintly dipped bottoms, and raised edges, slightly more so on the upper sides. They have the same pale gold finishes as on the server.

These have never been monogrammed and are in superb condition. Pattern detail remains sharp and well-defined. There is no damage, such as bends, nicks, or burrs, and the finishes are warm and bright.

Marks are Whiting's "lion" logo, "Sterling," and "Pat. 1878," plus the aforementioned retailer's name on all twelve pieces.
