$45.00 Price as is.

This piece measures 5 7/8" long and weighs a substantial 1.2 T. oz.

It is an original production example of Reed & Barton's Love Disarmed, issued in 1899, and is marked with the company's "eagle, R, lion" emblem, "Sterling," and "Pat. Appl'd For," all in very fine lettering.

All the details are exactly as they should be on an old example save that, significantly, the floral tip on the pattern is missing. It either broke off at some time, or this is a consequence of a defect in manufacturing, whichever is difficult to discern (see lower right image in the above composite).

The baby's face is rounded and fully delineated. The chest, neck, and arm surfaces of the female figure are textured, and her draped garb is finely lined and reflects a gossamer quality.

This has never been monogrammed.

Apart from the above noted loss, it is without wear and has a bright, rich, finish. The only signs of use are light surface scratches largely in the bowl.

Although compromised, and priced accordingly, this remains an attractive, original, example of this striking pattern.
