This is indeed a find – a hanging basket planter from McCoy’s butterfly line of the early 1940s!
Although produced as a hanging planter, it is also free-standing.
Planter photos may appear pink (depending on your monitor) but it is actually a lovely pale lilac color (listed as lavender in reference books). It measures 4 1/8” tall, 6 3/8” diameter, and bottom is marked NM, USA.
It is in excellent condition for its age with a few typical McFlaws -- production... Click for details
Super nice unmarked McCoy planter! This is a strawberry jar (or hen and chicks planter) and is in a pretty matte white color. Measures 6 ½” tall and is in wonderful condition with no evidence of “use”. It has a ½” closed stress mark at two of the “chick” openings – they are production and not detrimental to this older stoneware planter. This is a super addition to a stoneware or matte white collection!
The planter measures 3 1/4” tall, 9 1/4” long, and 4” wide.
The smallest flowerpot has a super tight 2” hairline and it has a production line on the saucer (production and occurred when removed from mold) – still very usable and a pretty flowerpot.... Click for details
Another very nice McCoy basket weave flowerpot! It measures 3 1/8” tall, 3 1/4” diameter, and is a pretty green color with shiny glaze. Bottom is marked: McCoy, USA.
This little pot has been used as intended and has some discolored crazing on interior’s top inch and it has a super tight 1/2” hairline that has slightly darkened -- nothing serious but not perfect and priced to reflect being a little less than perfect!
Definitely one of McCoy's most peculiar planters and a difficult find -- this is Cope's "faces" planter! It's in the colors of rustic line, measures 5 3/4" tall, top is 6 3/4" x 5 3/4".
One side has 4 faces peering from leaves, other side has 3 faces.
Marked on bottom: McCoy.
Planter is in great condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing. Has been used as intended and it has interior staining.
This listing has an extra nice McCoy fruit shaped planter!
This is the pear on leaf and bottom is marked McCoy, USA.
Planter has no chips, dings, or cracks! It has been used as intended and has minor crazing. Interior has in-mold initial “s” and bottom still has original ink price of 69 cents.

Another excellent condition McCoy planter that has been in my collection for many years! This is the Old Mill planter produced by McCoy in 1953. Planter is marked McCoy, USA. Fisherman has the original “fishing line” so often missing on these planters and still retains a small amount of his original cold paint.
