Gorham Folding Sterling Silver Medicine Spoon in Leather Case
Silver : Sterling : Smalls
Old Friends
5630f $110.00
The origins of medicine spoons trace to a device patented in England by Charles Gibson in 1827. This expression of the form, made by Gorham in the early decades of the 20th century, evolved from the much earlier Gibson one, although it is different in construction, and in actuality as much a novelty or collector's item as it is a utilitarian piece. Solid silver, it is comprised of two different sized bowls, one the size of a tablespoon, the other the size of a teaspoon, with each hinged to... Click for details

'Knurled' 19th Century Silver Napkin Ring Engraved 'Jennie'
Silver : Sterling : Smalls
Old Friends
5608f $45.00
Generously sized at 1 1/2" high and 1 3/4" in diameter, and weighing .74 T., the style of this napkin ring suggests an 1860s to 1880s date of manufacture. Appealingly simple in design, it features rolled rims adjoining knurled bands top and bottom. These are separated from a central, plain, concave band by raised beading. The central band is finished in a bright gold wash, as is the entire inside surface, which is an unusual detail for a napkin ring. The name "Jennie" is... Click for details

It was made by Gorham, whose "lion, anchor, G" emblem, "Sterling," model number "C159," and a date symbol for "1898" are imprinted on the lower edge of the handle. A finely crafted piece rendered in neoclassical French Empire style, this item serves a dual function. It is firstly a 4 3/4" by 3 1/2" by 13/16" high, hinged, oval box. 'Ivy & Vine' Organic 19th Century Sterling Silver Napkin Ring
Silver : Sterling : Smalls
Old Friends
5235f $38.00
Modestly sized at 1 3/4" diameter, 1 3/8" wide, and weighing just over .5 T. oz., this napkin ring could have been part of a child's set (along with a mug, plate, and/or porringer for example), although not necessarily. It has a three lobed body, the top and bottom ones of which are embossed in an Ivy and Vine pattern. Again, this naturalistic portraiture is pastoral, almost naive, in its theme and could suggest the innocence of a child. The interior is finished in a bright gold... Click for details

Bruce Cherner Antique Silver
2478 $75.00
Perhaps you've got a splendid kettle on stand but no burner, or perhaps you have a chafing dish but no heat source, or maybe you just need a way to warm your hands in Winter, but regardless of your wants here is the solution.
Height 1 1/2; diameter 3 inches, no monogram, good condition. I hesitate to even mention that the gross weight is 5.5 Troy ounces because there seems to be some sort of wicking compound underneath the screen which allows for even and gradual burning. We tried this... Click for details
