Length 5 7/8 inches, weight 1.18 Troy ounces, excellent condition, monogrammed "B" (obverse, Old English).

One of Frank Smith's better designs, and one of Yours Truly's favorite patterns...

Height 8 3/4 inches, loaded square base, no monogram, Gorham trademark and date symbol for 1908. In need of a good polishing which you, dear reader, may provide but otherwise in excellent condition.

Though weighted, this seems to be of a heavier than average gauge, and I suspect that there may be a dollar or two to be made here for someone who wants to send this along to the Great Melting Pot in the Sky.

Those who have had the good fortune to make the pilgrimage to Gorham's archives at Brown University will know that the company sent representatives to collect fabric samples from around the globe. These influences are used to great effect in this tour de force of chasing and piercing skills...

Other pages on this internet show a scrawny 5 1/2 inch item which they're trying to pawn off as the nut spoon. We beg to differ. And if you'll allow me to indulge myself in some shameless salesmanship, I will state that pierced servers are eminently useful, and the pointed antique patterns fit in well with any others.

the knife length 7 3/8 inches with Little Boy Blue a-blowing his horn, the spoon with Old Mother Hubbard and her sizable schnoz length 6 inches, total Troy weight 2.27 ounces, some scratches to bowl but fine overall condition, engraved "Roger from Auntie" (reverse).

Both figures appear to be hand chased-- note the detail in Blue's hat and knickers.

Birmingham 1905, maker J.A.R., diameter 1.5 inches, weight 1.05 oz. Troy, excellent condition, no engraving, gilt silver. Please see third photo for marks.

May I offer our apologies, dear reader, for having previously catalogued these as "Acorn"? Old age is taking its toll, here.

An underrated manufacturer, Watson had exceptionally talented die sinkers who were capable of producing flatware with fine detail and high relief. This spoon showcases their talent perfectly.

length 2 3/8 inches, weight .28 Troy oz, no monogram, some blemishes in one bowl but excellent overall condition, no monogram.

length 7 inches, no monogram, some very slight wear to the high spots (please see second photo) but excellent overall condition and a rather tough item to find, these days.

length 7 7/8 inches, conjoined script monogram "MHC" in bowl, cast, chased and reminiscent of Martelé flatware (see Carpenter plate 249 p. 235). Marked only "Sterling Black Starr & Frost".

length five inches, no monogram, excellent condition, weight .95 Troy ounces, please see third photo for mark. Rather a scarce piece in this pattern, and undoubtedly the cutest item on our entire website.

length 4 1/4 inches, weight .77 oz. Troy, marked as shown, fine condition.

An attractive and reasonably priced little item from the Art Deco era.

with squared chamfered shoulders and oval drop, length 8 1/2 inches, weight 1.93 Troy ounces, some light and faded scratches in bowl but fine overall condition, monogrammed as shown, fully marked.

including (top to bottom) D & H Number Ten, Blackinton "Thistle," and Gorham Cambridge which is monogrammed as shown. All are in excellent condition and average 4 1/2 inches. Total Troy weight 1.43 oz.

Price is for all four-- what a deal!! Make some fondue (remember fondue??) and invite a few friends over for dinner.

length just shy of ten inches, superb condition, gilt tines, marked only "Black Starr & Frost STERLING" but probably by Dominick & Haff, monogrammed "PM" (script, reverse) perhaps in honor of the cocktail hour...
