These would make a great match for the Metlox Antiqua pattern, Though not excact.... so close you can't tell by a glance. A wonderful old cup and saucer that is hand painted with blue hydrangeas and green foliage. Pale yellow background with a hint of orange blush. Gold edge trims. Saucer has the green circular Nippon backstamp. No chips or cracks. Some gold wear on the lower part of the handle. These are very light and delicate, as you can see through the cup.
I was told this was an old porcelain trivet, but I think maybe a cheese dish(?) Anyway, ... its old and lovely. No markings of any kind, and has a great wild rose floral design. Gold trim, a little worn on some edge spots. No chips or cracks. Measures 5 1/4" square. Lovely old item!
