Offered is an extremely rare coin silver three-tined tablefork marked ILINOIS with a punch that appears to match that used by noted early Mississippi Valley silversmith Louis Robitaille, working first in Quebec, and then in Detroit from 1793-96, Sainte-Geneviève, Missouri Territory (known to the French as Ilinois) circa 1797 to 1804, and in Natchez, MS from 1805 to his death around 1819. Offered is a nice American coin silver dessert spoon bearing the retailer's mark of James Emmons Spear, working in Savannah, GA for a period prior to 1846, and in Charleston from 1846 through 1871. This piece has a clear set of marks and period engraved script monogram. This spoon measures about 7 3/4 inches in length and weighs about 54 grams. Condition is fair overall, with some tip wear but no splits or repairs. All in all a nice useful piece of Southern coin silver!

Offered is an interesting early French silver table spoon dating to before the French Revolution, and a survivor of the French occupation of San Domingo (Saint-Domingue), which ended in 1804. This tablespoon bears 18th Century French silver hallmarks and is engraved in later writing with the family name of Danieux to the front and an inscription to the reverse documenting the history of the spoon. Offered is a nice Montgomery, New York coin silver table spoon by little-known silversmith David G. Bogert David Bogert, who was born around 1802 in New York City, and who trained starting about 1815 to Nicholas James Bogert. David was known to be working in Montgomery between about 1825 and 1850, and was farming exclusively after 1850. This piece has a good clear maker's mark and a period engraved script monogram. Offered is a very good and quite rare example of silver made by little-known craftsman William H. Kimberly (born circa 1804) of St. Louis. This tablespoon has a period engraved script monogram and is marked with Kimberly's maker's mark, as well as a city mark for St. Louis. Only a few spoons by Kimberly are known. This piece seems to date to the 1830s or 1840s by style, and is consistent with the years Kimberly would likely have been at his peak. The maker's mark and city mark are both clear... Offered is a good St. Louis coin silver spoon bearing the mark of William C. Defriez of St. Louis, circa 1849, give or take a few years. This piece has a clear maker's or retailer's mark. There is no monogram, but the the front may have been buffed, so there could be an erasure. This spoon measures about 5 13/16 inches in length, and weighs about 15 grams. Offered is a rare example of the maker's mark of George Collier Robbins, before he moved to California and then on to Portland, Oregon, where he opened one of the first jewelry stores. He also served as an early mayor of Portland. In this case, the spoon can be tied to St. Louis by the fact that that place-name is incorporated into the mark. The maker's mark or retailer's mark on this piece is legible, despite a stress in the spoon that runs through the mark. There is no monogram or sign of... Click for details

Offered is a very rare example of the mark of C. S. Russell, successor to E. Mead & Co. of St. Louis, circa 1865; Mr. Russell seems not to have had much success and his mark is rarely if ever seen. Offered is a nice example of the mark of Isaac D. Custer, a St. Louis jeweler and watchmaker who seems to have originated in PA and flourished in St. Louis for only a few years.
