Offered is a lovely and well-made George III sterling silver gravy ladle or sauce ladle hallmarked for London, 1772, and engraved with an armorial of an eagle's head or perhaps phoenix's head erased. The maker's mark is squeezed, but appears to be "?W" over "?T" - the year is too early for Wakelin and Taylor, so someone else. This is a really nice, hard to find, Autumn Leaf 4 5/8 inch high Water Tumbler with an all over Autumn Leaf pattern in 22K gold and etched frost motif with safe edge gold rims made by Libbey to accompany the Hall China pattern. The Tumbler measures 3 1/8 inches in diameter at the top and is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The gold decoration and frosted motif decoration is all very good. Measuring 6 1/4" long and weighing .64 T. oz., this sugar spoon is a charming period piece.

The Reverse Tipt handle is bright cut engraved in a wispy leaf design with training stems that encircle a script letter "LHN" monogram.

Outstanding among the various Medallion patterns produced during the 1860s, Gorham's version was the one chosen by Tiffany & Co. to offer under its retail banner.

This factor may explain the reason why it was more often than not made to a sterling silver standard, which Tiffany required, versus the typical coin of the period.
