This 7 7/8" long and weighty at 2.3 T. oz., small berry or jelly serving spoon is an original example of Reed & Barton's "Les Six Fleurs," a pattern issued in 1901.

It is marked with the company's "eagle, R in a shield, lion" emblem, "Pat. Appl'd For," and "Sterling" on the reverse, all in precise, fine lettering as would be expected of an original piece.

In addition, it is engraved on the backside in an Old English letter "C" monogram...

Made by Frank Smith, Federal Cotillion, was introduced in 1901 the year the Victorian era ended and the Edwardian one began, which likely explains the original name of the pattern, Edward VII.

A nearly identical design to Whiting's King Edward, also dating from 1901, the pattern is a stately interpretation of a traditional English Kings.

This example is a 5 3/4" long, just over 1.1 T. oz., sugar spoon...

A naturalistic pattern that shows Art Nouveau influences, Royal Oak was patented in 1902, as imprinted on the backside of this lengthy, 8 1/16" long, and weighty at nearly 1.9 T. oz., master butter knife.

Other marks include Gorham's "lion, anchor, G" emblem and the word "Sterling."

An original, early production item made by Alvin in one of the benchmark Art Nouveau floral patterns of the early 20th century, Alvin's Bridal Rose features a raised, sculptural in manner, portraiture of rose blossoms, leaves, and thorny stems stem on a handle with a slightly upturned end.

Dating from the early 20th century, the handle design is an Art Nouveau style Carnation surrounding a cherubic-looking child's face. This feature is offered in relief and and quite charmingly presented, with clear features that include a shock of curly hair.

Issued in 1910 (some sources indicate 1890), Alvin's Marie Antoinette, bespeaks its French design origins in its delicate, raised, detailing which includes garlands, wreaths, ribbons, and laurel leaves, all set on a plain ground. The pattern repeats on both sides of the handle.

As was characteristic of the company's products, the die work is intricately detailed, presented in high relief, and struck with precision.
