Those with long memories will recognize this as the same mug which sold at Charlton Hall, June 14 2009, (lot 730) for 1725.00. Please take a moment to look at those catalogue photos (see fifth enlargement), and you will notice a few dents and some surface abrasion presumably due to improper cleaning with steel wool...

Boston circa 1900, richly decorated with Rococo revival ornamentation, crested but otherwise not monogrammed, height 12 1/4 inches, weight 14.58 Troy ounces, some polishing wear to high points but fine overall condition, marked as shown in fifth enlargement.

While quite common in the world of Continental silver, these are exceptionally scarce in Victorian era Americana.

maker's mark "OL" height just shy of 3 1/2; top diameter 2 3/4 inches, monogrammed "AAH" (script) in oval cartouche with fancy scrolled floral engraved border, weight 2.23 oz. Troy, faintly gilt interior, a few dents in base as shown (please see photo number three) but very good overall condition.

What more may we say about this beaker? It won't break if you drop it and thus is well suited for bathroom or bar room...

Whiting could easily have incorporated the rocaille design into the dies which were used to strike the body of this piece. Instead, they chose to use applied decoration along the foot and below the lid, a more difficult and costly technique. The resulting three-dimensionality lifts this tureen out of the realm of "good" and into that of "exceptional".

guilloché enamel box, three distinct patterns visible in the engine turned engraving depending on your angle of vision (see enlargements), double hidden integral hinges opening outward from the center, gilt interior, 3 1/4 by 2 1/8 by 3/8 inches. There is a minor flake in the enamel (see third photo) which doesn't extend through to the metal, and some scuffing around the edges on reverse but aside from this the condition is superb...
