The 1860s saw a proliferation of three dimensional designs that included a ball, sphere, knob, and perhaps scarcest of all, cube form end as found on this very large, 11 1/4" long, 3.5 T. oz., (likely vegetable) serving fork.

Made by Philadelphia's George Sharp, who is most associated with this style, and particularly so his "Ball End," it is stamped "Patent 1863," "G.S.," and "Sterling," on one of the facets of the six-sided handle.

Sterling, but not marked as such. Silver finial, wood handle, on four silver feet, five-lug hinge. Capacity 1-3/4 pints. Height to finial 7-1/4". Maximum horizontal dimension 8-1/8". Total weight including wood handle 19-2/3 troy ounces. No monogram. Overall and mark condition are excellent.

Introduced by Whiting just after the turn of the 20th century, "King Edward" has remained a sought after pattern in the century plus since.

This 6" long, heavy at 1.2 T. oz., sugar spoon is an early example, marked with the Whiting lion logo, "Sterling," "Pat. Ap.23" and the name of the retailer, Boston's "A. Stowell & Co."

Dating from the mid 19th century, this matching pair of spoons are early production items from the New York City firm of Wood & Hughes.

A simple but well-executed "Tipt" pattern, they show the modest beginnings of a manufacturer which later produced some of the most elaborate designs of its time.

Each of these measures 8 3/4" long and has a feathered script "MAP" monogram set sideways on the handle. The pair weigh 2.8 T. oz.

This is a really great eight piece set of Spring Blossom Bake, Serve and Store Set Pyrex Ware by Corning. The sets consists of one 1 pint, 1 1/2 pint, 1 quart bowls with covers and one 1 1/2 quart oval casserole with cover. All eight pieces are in excellent, unused, condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. We removed these pieces from the original box. length 12 1/2 inches, weight 6.0 Troy ounces, monogrammed "J.E.L." in period script with flourishes, marked A.L. Coan Mobile" in serrated rectangle.

The bowl has a few more scratches than we'd like to see, and a small dip at the edge which we show in excruciating detail (see third photo), but all in all a pleasant and substantial item which presents itself quite well.

Early production examples of Reed & Barton's 1907 "Francis I," these two, matching, spoons are marked with the company "eagle, R, lion" emblem and "Sterling," in fine lettering.

Each one is also engraved on the reverse "HEA" in stylized Art Nouveau period script, further confirming their dating.

Measuring 4 1/2" long and relatively heavy, weighing marginally above 1.0 T. oz. the pair, they are the size of large demitasse or small after dinner coffee spoons.

Measuring 5 1/8" in diameter, 3/8" high, and weighing just over 2.8 T. oz., this shallow dish is a wine coaster that is suitable for holding either a 750 or 1500 ml bottle.

It has a 1/2" wide rim that is chased in a repeating acanthus leaf and scroll design.

The sidewall is tiered, while the base is convex, with a concave dip in the center. This is inscribed with a fancy, feathered script "MJK" monogram.

This is a really great Black Drizzle 10 inch high, empty, Wine Decanter made by Hazel Atlas. This Decanter was originally sold with Concord Grape wine in 1955. The bottle is signed HA on the bottom. Slightly more elaborated than "Cottage" as popularized Gorham, this rounded end design with a small fleur-de-lis, slightly upturned, srolled tip end has a thread edge and may be the design advertised as "Threaded" by the maker, Newell Harding & Co. of Boston. Additional design elements include an elaborated fleur-de-lis on the reverse heel of the bowl.

A large item, this open master salt stands 2" high to the rim, 2 1/2" to the top of the upswept handles, has a maximum diameter of 3 11/16", rests on a tiered, footed base that is 2" across, and weighs 2.0 T. oz.

Made by Wood & Hughes, whose "W&H" emblem and "Sterling" are imprinted on the underside, there is a 3/8" wide top border that features birds, butterflies, leaves and branches, all of which matches the company's 1870 Aesthetic "Japanese" pattern.

This is a really great, vintage crystal, glass Sellers Cookie Jar with original set-on lid. This Cookie Jar measures 8 inches high to top of lid X 8 inches across X 6 inches wide. This Cookie Jar is more disc shaped with flat sides. Each side is embossed with the letter 'S'. The Jar is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. I purchased these Santa figures years ago – they are absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t resist!

They were hand-painted by a very talented painter and are creatively made from re-purposed pieces of wood. These may be Russian Santas – I have been unable to find any information about them but they do have many characteristics of Russian hand-painted Santas.

Yes, these are also from my collection! I used to have a Christmas tree in the foyer and one in every room – each decorated with a different theme. The vintage glass ornaments were reserved for my aluminum Christmas trees (gold and silver) with these beautiful pink icicles always on a silver tree.

As can be seen in photos, there are a couple scratches – no doubt caused by a prior owner storing them with the metal hangers attached – this is a definite no-no.
