Offered is a nice set of three Georgian English sterling silver teaspoons by female silversmith Ann Robertson of Newcastle, circa 1800. These spoons each have a maker's mark and hallmarks, and each has a period engraved block letter monogram. These spoons measure about 5 1/8 inches in length and weigh about 11 grams each on average. Condition is fair to good overall, with some dings to a bowl or two and minor overall wear but no splits or repairs. All in all a fine group from a desirable... Click for details

Offered is a good pair of Georgian English sterling silver sugar tongs circa 1780-95, bearing the maker's mark of WC, probably for William Chawner, and a hallmark of a lion passant. This pair of tongs is nicely decorated and features a period engraved block monogram at the bowl. This piece measures about 5 1/8 inches in length and weighs about 25 grams. Condition is good overall with minor signs of normal use and no dents, splits or repairs. All in all a lovely example of the form!

Offered is a lovely Channel Islands coin silver spoon from the island of Jersey and the hand of noted silversmith Charles William Quesnel (1790-1856), circa 1810-20. This piece is scarce because for whatever reason, teaspoons are less common than tablespoons from the Channel Islands, at least in the style and period of this piece. This spoon is in a recognizable and largely unique Channel Islands style, and includes a three-letter block monogram typical of these spoons. Quesnel's maker's mark... Click for details

Matching, each of these two spoons measures 5 1/8" long. They weigh approximately .7 T. oz. combined.

They are stamped "T. Sargeant" for Thomas, 1773-1834, who worked in Springfield, Massachusetts, 1795-1821. He took over the business of Jacob Sargeant, either his father or brother, when he moved to Hartford, Connecticut in 1795 (Flynt and Fales The Heritage Foundation Collection of Silver).

Lengthy at 8 7/8" and weighing .9 T. oz., this olive spear or pick is solid silver.

The pattern is "Thistle," which is an early 20th century Art Nouveau design made by R. Blackinton & Co.

The high relief thistle flowers and leaves run the full length of both sides of the handle, with the leaves extending onto the shoulders of the twist.

The size of a contemporary cordial or port glass at 3 1/2" tall, and relatively heavy at 1.9 T. oz., this goblet is stamped with the model number "50," along with Gorham's "standing lion, anchor, G" emblem, "Sterling," and a date letter "B" for 1869, on the underside of the 1 3/4" diameter base.

The otherwise plain body has a "leaf and blossom" band bordered by two channels.

The tubular stem is narrow and solid.

A multi-motif pattern issued in 1871, Gorham's "Japanese" draws from the Aesthetic taste and is one of company's most exotic designs.

This example is a 6" long, approximately .9 T. oz., spoon.

The size and shape of an individual ice cream, it is either a variant of that form or possibly a sugar spoon. The bowl has notches on the shoulders absent from the typical ice cream, as well as a more rounded tip.
