An early 20th century piece, the unnamed pattern on this 5 5/8" long, just over .8 T. oz., Rogers, Lunt & Bowlen, later Lunt, teaspoon very much resembles a number of highly popular contemporaneous designs produced by Unger Brothers.

Strongly Art Nouveau in manner and set in high relief, it combines a floral motif with the face of a young woman.

Trianon originated with Dominick & Haff and was offered in both a solid and a pierced handle version. This 4 3/4" long, .7 T. oz. bon bon or nut spoon is an example of the latter version.

Reed & Barton continued production of the (pierced) pattern after it acquired Dominick & Haff, renaming it Florentine Lace.

It is a delicate, filigree like, design that incorporates small florettes, perhaps forget-me-nots, and scrolling acanthus leaves.

This is a really nice depression glass pink Cracked Ice Two Handled Sugar Bowl with Lid made by Indiana Glass in 1935. Both the sugar bowl bottom and lid are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The sugar bowl with lid on measures 4 3/8 inches high. Dating from the mid 19th century, this matched knife, fork, and spoon coin silver group was manufactured by "Hall, Hewson & Brower" of Albany, New York, and retailed by "T. Goldsmith" of nearby Troy, as indicated by the marks on the backside of each item.

A youth set, the knife measures 7 3/8" long, the fork 5 3/4", and the spoon 6 1/8". The knife weighs 1.0 T. oz., while the other two pieces are .6 T. oz. each, for a total of 2.2 T. oz.

A 5 1/2" long, approximately 2.0 T. oz., piece, this sauce or gravy ladle is an early example of Durgin's Chrysanthemum pattern. Its age is evidenced by the name of the retailer imprinted on the reverse, "Theodore B. Starr," New York City, first quarter of the 20th century, along with Durgin's "D" emblem, "Sterling," "925/1000," and "Patent."

William Hood in his work Tiffany Silver Flatware describes this 4 3/4" long, approximately .5 T. oz., lemon fork variant as "a novel . . . two tined form with a 'rooster spur' projecting out from the front of the bowl.

He further notes, "Presumably the spur is to limit the depth of penetration of the tines into the lemon slice."

length 8 inches, total Troy weight 10.49 ounces, monogrammed "B.B." (script, obverse). These have seen some hefty use by hungry hands. There is a bit of wear where they meet the plate, some of which encroaches upon the engraving. That said, they do still have a certain charm, excellent diaper work and scrolled decoration, and a wonderful feel in the hand. Marked "patent 1855 / coin" (mark is worn).

This 8 3/4" long, nearly 2.9 T. oz., serving shovel is an unusual piece.

While the scoop form was commonly employed in its mid 19th century period as an implement for berries, flat bottomed piece with low side walls, and a straight front edge is most likely an early form of an ice cream spade.

A French Thread pattern, it is doubly unusual in that the generally plain surface inside the lined margins, and the margins themselves, are finely engraved with wriggle work and stitchery.... Click for details
