3251f   $145.00

An early example of hollowware made by New York City's Wood & Hughes, this 5 1/2" tall, 3.0 T. oz., bud vase is stamped on the underside "WwH" and "900/1000," indicating it is coin silver. The style, in combination with the coin standard, suggests an 1860s date.

It sits on a knurled edge, pedestal base that is 2 3/4" in diameter, and has a rimmed top that is 1 7/8" wide, with a 1/2" actual opening.

The overall shape is classically inspired, with a gracefully tapered, slender, body that... Click for details

3250f   $80.00

The design on this piece is variously identified as "Acadia" or "Blok," or sometimes combined, with or without a hyphen.

The pattern was introduced in 1934 (one source offers 1931), although the mark on this 4 1/8" long, substantial weight, .8 T. oz. tea caddy spoon, "Georg Jensen in an oval of dots" over "Sterling" and "Denmark," was used from 1945 onward, so it dates between then and the 1970s when production was discontinued.

Deceptively simple in design, the pattern features a... Click for details

length 8 3/4 inches, weight 7.3 Troy ounces, no monogram, a few minor scuffs in gilding of bowl which we've greatly exaggerated in photo number three and a tiny nick in the nose (reverse of spoon; see fourth image) but exemplary overall condition, no monogram.

As the age of such grand Victorian era silver patterns stretches well past the one hundred year mark, we are finding it increasingly difficult to locate objects such as this which look pretty much the same way now as when they left... Click for details

Dating from the 1860s, this "Medallion" accounts itself well alongside other expressions of this classically-inspired genre produced by numerous manufacturers of the period.

In his benchmark work, "Silver Medallion Flatware," D. Albert Soeffing notes, "This particular medallion shows fine die work," and that is evident on this 4 3/4" long, .4 T. oz., (after dinner) coffee spoon.

The portraiture is of right facing, noble looking, female figure who perhaps represents Juno (Hera).
