Introduced in 1906, Pointed End was one of renowned Arts & Crafts silversmith Arthur Stone's earliest line patterns. It has a "Tipt" backside and slender, arched and tapered handle.

These six, matching, 8" long, 5.7 T. oz. the group, individual iced tea or lemonade stirring spoons are stamped with the "hammer over Stone" emblem, "Sterling," and an "E," for benchman George Erickson who established his own well-regarded silver shop subsequent to his work with Stone.

This wine funnel is a two piece item consisting of a 3 1/2" diameter, 1 3/8" high, strainer basket, and the actual fitted funnel that is 3 1/2" long. The two pieces together weigh 3.3 T. oz.

The bowl is fully hallmarked with a "lion," "leopard," date letter "C" for 1818-19, duty "bust," and "W.B" in a double rounded cartouche for William Bateman, whom Jackson's Hallmarks identifies as "very good (best of the Batemans)."

Measuring 5 1/2" long and weighing .5 T. oz., this souvenir spoon is comprised of three sections.

The top consists of a well-articulated cast figure of a standing miner with a hat on his head, boots on his feet, balancing a pick axe in his right hand and contemplating a chunk of ore that he is holding in his left hand.

There is a small crossbar below the figure and it reads, "Millions in It."

Marked with Gorham's "lion, anchor, G" emblem, "Sterling," and "Copyrighted" on the backside heel of the bowl, this is an early production example of the company's 1888 Versailles pattern.

A table, i.e. serving, spoon, it measures 8 1/2" long and weighs an exceptionally heavy 2.44 T. oz.

Offered is a very interesting American coin silver teaspoon made by James Watts of Philadelphia, specifically in a British fiddle pattern, with associated weight and proportions, as well as a little-seen lion pseudo-hallmark that appears to denote the piece was made to the sterling standard. This piece measures about 5 3/8 inches in length and weighs about 22 grams. It is monogrammed in period script, a bit worn but probably an "S" or a "P". Offered is a nice 19th Century French first standard silver teaspoon in the French form of fiddle pattern, also known as Uniplat. This teaspoon has a mark very similar to one given in standard references for Etienne-Henri Sanoner (see last picture), and it is likely the mark on this spoon was also his. This spoon is monogrammed to the reverse, and has a clear maker's mark and standard or fineness mark. This piece measures about 5 1/16 inches in length and weighs about 13 grams. Condition is... Offered is a very nice American coin silver teaspoon by the noted New Haven, CT partnership of Marcus Merriman and Zebul Bradley, working as Merriman & Bradley from 1817 to 1826. This spoon is engraved in period script with the initials "BS" and has a legible maker's mark, as well as a very interesting pseudo-hallmark of a star or sun, which doesn't normally appear on this partnership's silver, and which is not documented in McGrew's "Manufacturers' Marks on American Coin Silver".
