This is a really nice elegant glass Paneled Grape Milk Glass 13 1/4 inch diameter Cupped Bowl or Cupped Plate made by Westmoreland Glass. This Plate measures 2 inches high and is signed on the back: WG. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. Tracing to the mid 19th century, this pair of coin silver tongs are early production items made by Cincinnati's premier firm "Duhme & Co.," as indicated by the stamp on the inside of each arm.

Possibly for use with a (pickle) caster, they are large at 6 5/8" long, and heavy at 1.7 T. oz., and combine a variety of period design elements.

The arms have a twisted central section joined to a solid squared block where they meet the substantially-scaled talon grips.

Offered is a nice set of English Georgian sterling silver sugar tongs for everyday use; these have a maker's mark of IL and Georgian-era hallmarks for London, 1814, as well as a museum inventory mark from 1966. These were de-accessioned by a Southern institution and were acquired with a number of other pieces from the same de-accessioning. This set of tongs also has a gothic initial monogram, which probably replaced an original script monogram that was erased. These tongs measure about 5 1/2... Click for details

Offered is a lovely American coin silver egg spoon or large condiment (dry mustard or horseradish?) spoon by noted Philadelphia silversmith Thomas Whartenby, circa 1820, give or take five years. This piece was de-accessioned recently by a Southern institution, and judging by the museum inventory number to the reverse, it was originally gifted in 1966. This piece bears a good strike of Whartenby's initials maker's mark and the eagle head mark used in conjunction with that mark. It measures... Click for details

Offered is an early 19th Century American coin silver sugar tongs, deaccessioned from a Southern museum, but which were made by Cazenovia/Pompey, New York silversmith and clockmaker Jehiel Clark (1764 or 1781-1855), who was working in Cazenovia by about 1808 or 1810, and worked for several decades before turning over his business to his son. This piece is marked J.CLARK in a rectangular punch, with a large standing eagle mark that McGrew attributes to a New York manufacturer (Foster). This... Click for details

This is an interesting teaspoon with some British Colonial aspects, which may or may not be American coin silver, Canadian, or something else. Marked with Gorham's "lion, anchor, G" emblem, along with "Sterling" and "Pat 1885," this youth fork measures 5 7/8" long and weighs .9 T. oz.

The pattern is St. Cloud, which was one of the outstandingly successful designs produced by Antoine Heller in his long and consequential career with Gorham.
