Generally attributed to Michael Gibney, the patent for this 1862 eponymously named pattern was apparently issued to Francis H. Gibney. In either case, it has long been identified as a Whiting design.

This matched 6 5/16" long, .9 T. oz., youth knife and 6" long, .8 T. oz., spoon are coin silver and may predate the Whiting association (later production was made to a sterling standard).

Each piece is stamped "W. Kendrick" for the Louisville, Kentucky, jeweler, with the spoon additionally... Click for details

Set of 3 elephant figurines.Mama elephant with her 2 babies.These are speckled gold with black detailing and pink inner ears and mouth.Mid Century Modern, Made in Japan.There are loops on all 3 elephants to attach chain. The chain is present on one of the babies, but missing on the other. The mama elephant measures 6" X 6" The baby elephants measure 2.5" X 3" Perfect condition with no damages or repairs. Ceramic Dancing Deco Lady figurine~ Very Good Condition. One has some crazing though. This is a very lovely lady with a sweeping, skirt. Made of hand-painted, glazed ceramic. It stands 7 18"" high. Circa 1940s, it is in very good condition and without chips or cracks. There is age-related crazing, which is not uncommon for vintage pottery. I have 2 and price is for each. I will send the best one first.

Lovely lady pottery planter made in the 1940's 50's era. She has the skirt of her dress hiked up and the center front area is the planter space. Only marked with a simple K on the bottom. Measures 6" tall and has some typical age crazing. No chips, hairlines damages or repairs. Unique and pretty.

Weighty at 1.2 T. oz., this 4 3/4" long pair of sugar tongs is stamped with the "crown, W, lion" mark of the Watson Company, along with the word "Sterling."

The pattern is "Lily," dating from the early 20th century.

An expressive Art Nouveau design, it incorporates a cluster of blossoms at the tops of the arms, and has cupped grips that are imaginatively formed into a gathering of undulating leaves.

An early line pattern first issued in 1861 to a coin silver standard, "Cottage" continued in production for many years, through Gorham's transition to sterling in 1868.

This 8 1/2" long, 2.3 T. oz, pie server is marked with the company's "lion, anchor, G" emblem and "Sterling," indicating it dates post 1868.

It has a triangular shaped serving end, with a cupped heel and flanged shoulders and edges. The surface is engraved in an anthemion, leaf and flower, period design.

diameter, 8.5"; height .75"; weight 14.0 oz. Troy; a few minor scratches and dents but excellent overall condition, no monogram, marked as shown in fifth enlargement.

Some similarities such as the ring-matte chasing (see second photo) exist between this and China Trade items which were imported to Boston during an albeit slightly later time frame, (see Forbes, figures 41 and 153), which along with the four toed feet and overall chunky-ness of this item leads me to wonder if Messr's Welles... A charmingly delicate piece, this bon bon measures 4 3/8" long and weighs .6 T. oz.

All sterling silver, and so marked, it features an open work bowl that incorporates a series of swirls, leaves, and beading, punctuated by four symmetrically-situated floral rosettes.

The wire frame handle repeats the same structure and motif as the bowl.

In flawless condition, this is without any wear or damage. The filigree work is completely intact, absent any breaks or bends.

There was a time when folks would actually get excited to find one of these with nicely engraved silver, almost no cloudiness to the glass and no nicks on the stopper, but now we're expecting aught but a chorus of yawns. Go ahead, surprise me!!

Offered is an estate-fresh large pair of 10" turned brass push-up candlesticks, probably circa 1825-50, and so a bit earlier than the typical beehive style brass candlesticks of the 19th century. These are not cleaned up and have a pleasing patina and overall presentation. They are a bit more squat and massive than later candlesticks, and have rectangular bases. This lovely canister or apothecary jar made by Bombay, and is so striking. Made of heavy dark amber/brown glass with a freshness seal on the lid to make it airtight. Jar is 5 1/2" plus the lid that is 5" tall... so the entire jar from rooster comb to bottom is 10 1/2" tall. The bottom is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2". Large and roomy.
