Offered is a good American coin silver teaspoon by Boston silversmith Joseph Foster (1759-1839), an apprentice of Benjamin Burt. He apprenticed from 1774-81 and then worked on his own from 1781 until about 1830 in Boston. This spoon should date to somewhere in the 1810-25 range by style. It is engraved with a period script initial "E" for the original owner, and has a clear, legible strike of Foster's maker's mark. The mark is PITKIN in primitive letters (with a reversed final "N") in a rectangular punch. The drop is a well-defined semi-circle. The period engraved script monogram runs lengthwise. Offered is a nice Connecticut coin silver salt spoon marked T.STEELE&CO, representing the partnership between Thomas Steele and Dwight H. Buell circa 1858-66. This piece has an attractively shaped bowl and a nicely engraved period script monogram, in addition to the legible maker's mark. It measures about 3 3/4 inches in length and weighs about 6 grams. Offered is a nice Massachusetts double-swell style coin silver condiment spoon by noted jeweler/silversmith Alexander Stowell, circa 1865-75. This piece is engraved "Lee" in period script to the reverse, and has a clear maker's mark. It measures about 5 1/8 inches in length and weighs about 10 grams. It may be a dry mustard spoon, or perhaps had another purpose. Condition is very good overall, with no major dents and no splits or repairs. All in all a useful piece for the table!

Offered is a nice American coin silver teaspoon marked J.BELL in a rectangular punch; this spoon is also marked with NY-style manufacturer's marks. I haven't researched this mark, but assume J. Bell was a retailer, most likely in the NE part of the country, but perhaps elsewhere. By style, this spoon should date to the 1840s or 1850s. This 7 1/2" long, 1.2 T. oz., tea aka breakfast aka dessert knife is an early solid coin silver example marked with Coles' three part "eagle," "A/C," "bust" emblem.

Offered is a pair of early 19th Century American coin silver teaspoons by David B. Cumming of Philadelphia, working there circa 1810-15. These teaspoons are transitional fiddle in form, without shoulders. They measure about 5 7/16 inches in length, and weigh a total of about 30 grams. Marked for the prominent Cincinnati firm of "Duhme & Co.," this 6" long fork, 6 3/8" knife, and 6" spoon set has additional provenance as each piece is engraved what appears to read, "Andrew K. Reuss" on the handle front and "Jan. 26th 1872." on the reverse.

Artfully crafted, the hollow handles have rounded ends with a "Thread" design and arum leaf detailing at the join with beaded and engraved banding.
